With Royal Sporting House’s explosive expansion
in the Eighties, the Company began looking beyond Singapore
for new growth and market diversity. Malaysia was a natural
extension for Royal Sporting House as a result of its proximity
to Singapore and relative similarity. Following the Company’s
successful entry into Malaysia (1989), Royal Sporting House
began pushing further abroad into Indonesia (1990) and Brunei
(1991). However, the Company’s vision was the creation of a
multi-national corporation and it expanded beyond Southeast
Asia into Dubai (1992), Hong Kong (1992), India (1993) and the
Philippines (1994).
In tandem with the group’s overseas expansion,
a S$40 million new corporate headquarters was completed in the
same year at 190 MacPherson Road, Wisma Gulab, Singapore.
1993 was a landmark year for Royal Sporting
House as it began to be recognized both in Singapore as well
as abroad for outstanding achievements. It would mark the first
of ten award-winning years and a total of 27 local and international
awards won by RSH.
